Learn about natural fibre dyes and make your own scarf to take home. Participants will review plant safe for use as colourants and overview of natural dye techniques. While walking through the beautiful garden areas we will search for plants growing that can be used as natural dyes. After our walk, we will do some demonstrations and cook our plant materials. We will share some tea while we wait for our projects to complete. Everyone will leave with our own silk scarf to take home.
Instructor: Darcy Smith is a local fibre artist specializing in natural dyes made from local plants.
