Regreening Tour in Greater Sudbury

In 2018, the City of Greater Sudbury is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its internationally-recognized regreening program.

As a member of the VETAC (the Regreening Committee) the Sudbury Horticultural Society is inviting gardeners to join Dr. Peter Beckett, (professor at Laurentian University and Chair of VETAC) on a short hike along the Jane Goodall Trail to learn about the regreening program and view examples of the work that is being done.  Sudbury Master Gardeners will provide participants with wildflowers for planting along the trail so that they can be a part of the regreening program.  "Northern Wildflowers" will be on hand with a display of wildflowers suitable for planting in local gardens that can be purchased by those who are interested in adding them to their own properties.

Participants are asked to gather at the Tourist Information site at the corner of Highway 17 and the Garson-Coniston Road near Coniston at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16th.
