Fletcher Wildlife Garden Open House
The Back Yard Garden at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden has been planted with a wide variety of plants that are native to the region, are hardy enough to survive in the Ottawa climate, and are attractive to insects, pollinators and birds. Plants are labeled as a way of educating local gardeners, and encouraging them to grow these plants themselves. The surrounding trees and small pond provide a variety of conditions (full sun, partial sun, wet area) that allow certain plants to flourish. One section of the garden contains a collection of local ferns. Garden volunteers will help explain the many features of our Back Yard Garden.
