Barrels Bloom (Downtown Beamsville Community Arts Project)
The Downtown Beamsville BIA has partnered with 8 Local Wineries (Calamus Estate Winery, Cornerstone Estate Winery, Fielding Estate Winery, Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery, Malivoire Wine Company, Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery, Thirty Bench Wine Makers, Vieni Estates Inc) and one Local Brewery (Bench Brewing Company); the Beamsville Decorating Centre, Action Print, Deans' No Frills, Turner & Associates and Conversations Café; and the students of Beamsville District Secondary School both the Arts department, as well as the Specialist High Skills Horticulture Department, and the Town of Lincoln to bring beautiful Wine Barrel painted planters to the streets of the Downtown, filled with stunning plants and flowers.
With the Town of Lincoln being home to over 50 wineries and rich soil for farming and greenhouses the Board of the Downtown Beamsville BIA was looking for a way to not only bring more colour into the Downtown, but also to engage the community. Bringing the wonderful wineries and breweries surrounding Downtown Beamsville into the project was a priority as well as a way for Downtown Beamsville to be more engaged with the wineries and breweries that surround us and are vital to our community. Always looking for an opportunity to engage the youth in the Downtown as well as leverage the skill set that the youth have it was important for the Downtown Beamsville BIA to showcase all of that through a Community Arts Project, and wonderful partnerships.
